Movin On

We took the Vision(motorcycle) downtown(vegas) last night about 9 and it was still 103 here in the desert. It was packed and I have a hard time believing there is a recession in Vegas. We parked for free at the Harley Davidson Cafe. Took Tonto(Matt) to the Bellagio fountain show and of course it was the king singing Viva Las Vegas, how perfect. Did some people watching and strolling around and headed back to Sam's Town RV Park (where we stayed for the unbelievable price of $21 per night).

Today we packed up, took one last trip down the strip and headed to the Hoover Dam again. Tonto took the power plant tour while I was forced out do to some magnetic field created by 17 turbines not being healthy for the old ICD. So I hung at the visitor center until Matt got back. The Hoover Dam is an awesome sight but it's even more stunning when you realize it was built in the '30's when large heavy duty equipment was non existent. Simply amazing.

The new air suspension springs got a work out today as we traveled down Rt. 95 to Blythe, California. The road was pretty good in Nevada, but once we hit California it turned into one of the worse roads I've been on in awhile. I'm thinking a kidney belt should be issued when you enter this state. I think some stimulus dollars would be well spent on that route. We are spending the night at our first KOA on the Colorado River which I plan on sticking a foot in tomorrow morning. The rate is double what we were paying in Vegas, go figure. Kampgrounds of America really means Killing off Art. I miss my Wal Mart free shopping center.

We are headed over to "Slab City" tomorrow to check out Salvation Mountain (created by Leonard Knight). Basically Leonard has built this thing out of trash for about 25 years and it all boils down to "God is Love". I'm hoping we get to meet ol' Leonard. If you watched "Into the Wild" then you know all about this place. It's an old abandoned military base that turned into a free hippie hang out and in the winter alot of snowbirds show up. That's the latest. Thanks for reading and God Bless, Art
