Traveling

Yesterday after a great time at Graceland we left for Kansas City. Graceland was great, but Memphis c'mon have a little pride, I mean he was the king. I will say Elvis had some nice toys. Well we had our first mishap yesterday when I pulled into the Flying J and ran over the curb to the fuel island. I kinda forgot that the exhaust pipes are in front of the rear tire, not the back of the tires. Let's just say one out of two pipes was smashed shut. Being the ace mechanic I am, it only took me 196 miles to figure it out. I'm thinking (hoping is more like it) that no permanent damage was done.

Today was filled with food accidents. First the maple syrup bottle spilled over and decided to leak all over the cabinet and drip onto the dinette table. Then I took off in the RV with a brand new jar of homemade blueberry jam sitting on the sink. Yep one bounce and it broke all over the entrance step. Despite our massive clean up skills (which I'm sure BP is quite envious) I'm expecting the invasion of the body snatcher ants to begin tomorrow. On a positive note, we took the victory vision out today to explore downtown KC. We visited the Negro League Baseball Museum and the Jazz Museum. Tonight Matt' friends picked us up and took us to Jack Stack for some healthy BBQ (chicken I promise) and then some great time at IHOP.

Tomorrow we head out to Oklahoma and the Akemans and Abernathys. We might also scout out an RV store or hitch shop to get some airbags installed over the rear wheels to help out on the suspension. It's a long story, but at this rate I might be losing some kidneys before we get to the big hole! God Bless, Art
